Gottfried Martin, General Metaphysics, London, George Allen & Unwin, 1968. 課程概述 本年度形上學課程採用美國著名分析哲學家奇松（Roderick M. Chisholm）份量不大但是頗為重要的論文集：On Metaphysics.為講授教材。本書雖然有一定的難度，但是篇幅不多，適合精讀。 第一學期的課程分配構想如下： 在開始的前幾週，將以身心問題作為主要的發問題材，檢討形上學歷史中此一問題的基本意見，主要討論柏拉圖、亞理斯多德、笛卡爾對此靈魂（心靈、精神）與身體（肉體）之間關係的看法與相關形上學問題。 接著，將以身心問題切入課本中奇松的討論（chap.12,chap.13）。 第二部分開始，將討論自由與決定論的問題（chap.1, chap.2）。同一性、可能世界（模態）、時間的問題（chap.3, chap.4） 每週進度： 1. What is metaphysics? An introduction 2. Initiation with the mind-body problem –以身心問題的歷史面向切入
