Department of Philosophy at Huafan University
Established in 1996, the department aims to preserve and promote Chinese culture, by embodying the concept of “Enlightened Education“ and extending the traditions of Huafan University to the world. The department, by using Western philosophy to train students' reasoning, endeavors to establish a solid foundation for humanities and create possibilities for the renaissance of Chinese Philosophy in our time. |

Goals
We aim to develop students reasoning abilities and high EQ personalities, and prepare them to face their future careers. We assist students in forming their own ambitions in life, and prepare them to deal with potential difficulties. Furthermore, we wish for our students to enjoy helping others, and to become excellent citizens of the world.

The department has been developed to exhibit the following features:
- Studying original texts:
Students are trained to read and interpret original texts and use materials written in foreign languages.
- Mandatory graduation thesis:
Students are trained to organize and express ideas effectively.
- Teacher-student interactions:
Students have easy access to help, and enjoy extensive interaction with teachers.
